Hello,
I am Administrator of about 60 Microsoft Terminal-Servers.
My company uses Solarwinds for monitoring. (SAM)
I am not Solarwinds-Administrator and I do not have a lot to do with it.
My Servers frequently make planned shutdowns or reboot.
In Solarwinds these servers for sure get in Alarm state.
To avoide this alarms, I have to inform the responsible person for Solarwinds, that Server X will shutdown in the night. He manually sets the Server to "unmanaged".
My Question:
My Servers use a Startup and also a Shutdown-Script.
Is it possible to automate this process?
I want to run a command through the shutdown script, which sets the Server to unmanaged in Solarwinds.
I want to run a command through the startup script, which sets the Server to managed in Solarwinds.
Of course I don't like to install software for this on my servers.
The server should be recognized from Solarwinds by his hostname.
Could anybody help me on this?
Thank you!
