Spread the word - Kiwi CatTools

Some years ago I inherited a 100 switch Cisco environment and I wanted to change the (at the time) telnet passwords of all switches.

I diligently spent a couple of hours telneting to each switch and changing the passwords.  It was hell and I sought a way to automate these changes.

I found Kiwi CatTools, figured out how to set it up and proceeded to use it for automating my backups, moving from telnet to ssh and made so many other configurations with it.

Then a terrible thing happened.  The director decided to replace all the Cisco switches with HP Procurves (ugh).  After some work, I was able to use Kiwi CatTools again for scheduled backups and mass config changes.

I did consider other options like Cisco Works, but the costs associated were way out of league with the budget.  Kiwi CatTool was the right product.

I have used Kiwi ever since, going on 8 years.  I have years of backups on tape and have never felt fear of not being able to quickly restore a network environment.

I am now looking to implement it in a mixed Cisco Brocade ICX switch environment.  I just figured out how to get it to work with ssh and radius/ad usernames and passwords.  GREAT STUFF!
