Alert Central / NPM

I was told today by Deney De Guzman, from support (case#:522033) that Alert central will generate the alerts even when I have scheduled an unmanage task on NPM.  I was directed to this forum since my paid support doesn't cover Alert Central.  I think this is really not the case, but I figured I would reach out for some help.
